Mallory Schanuel and Haley Davitz were so sweet and generous by each giving a free book from the Book Fair to a little girl from ELC.  What a thoughtful and kind gesture!  This was reported by a parent at the Book Fair.

Molly Gould (KM) offered to help Mrs. Ferreri carry some workout equipment to the classroom.  She was a great help!  Way to go Molly!

Andrew Lyke's glasses needed to be cleaned.  Mrs. Kuebel was busy and could not clean them so Ryan Collantes and Calvin Jensen offered and cleaned his glasses for him.  Awesome friends Andrew, Calvin & Rayn!

Jared Beals in 2S picked up a utility box of crayons, pencils, and erasers that were dropped without anyone asking him to help.  Jared did it without thinking twice to help a fellow classmate.  Way to go Jared!

We want to recognize Xavier Geiler and Aidden Garner in PreK for being so generous on the playground when the third grade girls didn't have any chalk to play with during recess.  These two boys very generously SHARED their chalk without any hesitation so that all of then could have fun.

Trey Buzzard has been honored for always holding the door as the upper grade students go outside.  Trey was nominated by an 8th grade student.  Way to go Trey!

Cheyenne Decker offered to stop and help some of the younger students get ketchup or dressing on their lunch trays.  The students were too small to pour their condiments, so Cheyenne jumped right in to help!

Ayden Wescott has been recognized for doing a random act of kindness by a substitute teacher in the 1st grade classroom.  Ayden shared his snack with a friend who didn't have one.  Mrs. Karl was very impressed with Ayden!  Good Job Ayden!

Celia Toenjes was recommended by several classmates - she loaned a pencil to a friend when theirs broke during a test and she gave her coat to another friend outside when her friend did not bring her coat.  She also offers to help in the cafeteria every single day when it is time to clean up and go outside.  WOW!

Ryan Phillips, a second grader, was at Walmart with his family when he looked down and found a $20 bill.  He spent the next 20 minutes or so walking around the store, seeing if he could find anyone who might be looking for lost money.  Lo and Behold!  he ran into another Cathedral parent who just mentioned that she had lost $20 and was thinking it was gone for sure.  Not with Honest Ryan around.  She got back her $20 and Ryan got a big congratulations and pat on the back for great character.  Way to go, Ryan.

Sam Eilerman has been recommended for a Random Act of Kindness Award by two of his classmates.  When two students opened their locker, their "locker holder" fell on the floor, dumping all of their items out.  Without asking, Sam just came over and helped them to pick everything up.

A student was having difficulty carrying candy boxes after school and Allison Schell saw his difficulty and took it upon herself to help him out.  Good Job Allison!

Sophie Konradt took her extra time before going out to recess and picked up wrappers and napkins that some fellow students failed to clean off their lunch tables.  Thanks, Sophie!

Elizabeth Harla and Gabby Bobadilla offered to clean the Art room boards without being asked.  This is a job they are not responsible for and we appreciate that they asked to do this on their own.


Sept 19th

Dr. Bennett recommends Kyla Norton for a Random Act of Kindness.  Kyla got out of her car Friday morning and ran to help Dr. Bennett.  She offered to carry her things in from the car.  Dr. Bennett's hands were full and Kyla was very thoughtful.


Sept 19th

Miss Ratkewicz had two students jump out of their seats to help a friend.  The friend's pencils and crayons all fell off her desk while she was out of the room.  Cami Lindauer and Marlie Howell both went and picked up her items without being asked.  I was very proud of them!


Sept 16th

Carter Lindauer - He opened a door for Mrs. McNease without being asked.  He saw her hands were full and got up and held the door for her.  What a gentleman!


Sept. 8th

Mrs. Meile has submitted the name of Nick Siegel for a random act of kindness award.  She mentions that every morning Nick comes by her room before school and asks if he can get ice for the teachers' lounge.  He also does many other helpful things every morning.
 

Sept. 1

Santiago deserves a random act of kindness because he was a great help to a classmate.  Santiago picked up books and papers when his fellow classmate  dropped all his belongings. Very thoughtful!!
 
Sept. 2
Mrs. Hoffman noticed that Ian Edson stopped to pick up some tater tots that had been dropped on the floor and were a danger for a student to slip on them.  Everyone else just walked over them.  Way to go, Ian!!  (This is his second already)
 
Amelia Elser in grade 5 volunteered very quickly to get the homework prepared for a fellow student who was absent.  She didn't have to help out, but she chose to be caring and helpful.  We're proud of you!

Michael was having trouble carrying four bags so Christoff Dorsey offered to help him with his load.  What a good friend!  Way to go Christoff!

 


James Ferreri and Ian Edson were so thoughtful to hold the back doors (kept locked all the time) open for all the teachers and students to enter after our "Entrance Blessing" ceremony.  Very kind of you both!


Our first Random Act of Kindness Award for the 2011-2012 School Year goes to Ms. McCormack.  Ms. McCormack spent a lot time over the last two weeks putting Bulletin Boards up all over our school.
