Thank you to all the parents and students who attended the Cathedral Open House. It was a great success. Our classroom and hallway looked terrific. I had a lot of compliments on our room and the children’s creative art work.
If you know a new family that is interested in our school, please have them contact the school office. We appreciate getting the word out about our wonderful school.
Spelling Test
The first spelling test will be on Friday, February 10th, 2012. Each week I will list the spelling words inside the homework packet and on the web page. Please focus on having your child spell and write the words at home. I will grade on accuracy plus handwriting. The spelling words will consist of sight words, color words, and number words. This will help the kindergarteners develop good writing skills and provide a jump start for 1st grade.
February Weekly Spelling Test Words:
Feb. 11th – of, the, and, a, I (bonus word- God)
Feb. 17th – to, for, in, you, is (bonus word – red)
Feb. 24th – this, he, was, be, at (bonus word – blue)
Celebrate Valentine’s Day – Feb. 14th
The children will be able to pass out Valentine cards on Tuesday, Feb. 14th. Please refer to the class list that was sent home on Feb. 2nd to help your child address the envelopes…..remember to have your child sign his/her name inside the card. The children made a card holder at school with our 8th grade buddies so no need to send in anything. We will have a special snack and drink @ 9:30a.m. Thanks Mrs. Kavran for providing a snack, drink, and helping us make a special art project on Valentine’s Day.
*** Non-uniform day sponsored by Student Council….for 50 cents students can wear red, white, or pink shirt and nice jeans.
