Week of February 6-10, 2012

Reminder:  Our next Book Club meeting will be Tuesday, February 7 at 3:00 p.m. in Mrs. Casson’s room

5H – This week’s story is Catching Up With Lewis and Clark from our Reading textbook.  We will have a comprehension test over the story on Friday. Our focus for the week will be on drawing conclusions.  Spelling workbook pages 121-126 will be due on Thursday.  The Spelling test will be on Thursday.

6C- The students will be reading Back to the Moon from our Reading textbook.  We will be working on understanding story elements.  Spelling workbook pages 121-126 will be due on Wednesday.  The Spelling test will be on Thursday.

7T- The students will need to complete Diary of a Young Girl, Anne Frank on Friday.  They will be writing a summary for each diary entry from April 14, 1944 through the end of the novel.  Each diary summary should include three details from the specific date.  Summaries are due on Monday, February 13th.

8H- We are filming The Outsiders movie this week.  Everyone is required to have their costumes here on Monday, February 6^th for filming.  The actual due date for their props was Friday, February 3^rd to receive full credit.

6C- English – We will be reviewing adjectives this week.  Our unit test will be on Friday.

5H- English – Our unit test covering adverbs will be on Friday.  We will be reviewing throughout the week.
