                 January 30 – February 10

Catholic Schools’ Week is here!!! I am looking forward to all of this week’s planned activities!!! Here is a reminder of what is happening on which day:

Week Long Activities: Mystery Saint of the Day; Prayer for Catholic Schools in morning; Penny War raising funds for the Belleville Area Humane Society.

Monday: “Dare to Dream It”…in pajamas!! (school appropriate of course) We will also be enjoying a movie in our room that afternoon.

 

Tuesday: Mass for Grandparents and Students at 1:15 pm. *****3rd grade is in charge of this Mass…so we will be doing the readings and carrying offertory!!***** Grandparents will then come to school for snack and to visit the classroom. Student may leave with grandparents after they visit classes.

 

Wednesday: Sports Theme Attire (jeans are allowed but NO sweats) and Roller Skating Party 2-4 pm (Sponsored by Parents’ Club); Early dismissal at 1:45 pm and Parents’ Club at 7 pm

 

Thursday: Teacher Appreciation Luncheon (11:30-12:45) provided by Student Council and Spirit Wear if parents attended Parents’ Club the night before.

 

Friday: Hats off to Catholic Education (after Mass students may wear hats in school)

 

Report cards

Reminder that if you have not returned your report card, it needs to be done ASAP!! Thank you.

 

Mc Kendree Field Trip

Just a reminder that ELC – Grade 3 will be attending STORYTIME at McKendree on Thursday, February 9th. I am very excited to see what his program has to offer.

Father’s Day Essay Contest

This is a contest held by the Chicago White Sox. It is not mandatory to do this. However, if your child chooses to do this I need the essay by Feb. 9th.  Information was given to those that said they were interested last Thursday.

Irish Art Contest

This is another contest the students have the opportunity to participate in but it is not required. Information on this was sent home last Thursday with interested students as well. These entries need to be at school no later than Feb. 17th.
