And the Forecast for Second Grade is……..Week of January 30-Feb.10
We’ve been working hard already this first week of the
third quarter. In math we’re working towards banking
skills counting money. In English we are gearing up
action, helping, and linking verbs. In Religion we are
discussing the Liturgy of the Word and Liturgy of the
Eucharist. It won’t be long until the very special days
of Reconciliation and Eucharist become part of your
child’s life.
As we begin our Catholic School Celebration, we are so
grateful to have such wonderful students and awesome
parents to work with each and every year/ Without your
help and support we could not stand alone. Thank you
for sending your child to our school and making
CGS
the greatest school
around!
TISSUE ALERT:
I hate to keep asking for things, but we are on our last box or
two of tissues. If you can help the noses out in
2nd grade, I’d much appreciate it. I thank you, the
kids thank you, and their runny little noses thank you,
too!

MARK YOUR CALENDARS

Parents,
During the month of February, we
will be discussing and learning about Presidents Lincoln
and Washington in particular. This is a good
opportunity for the children to expand their knowledge
of our country’s presidents.
Your child is to pick a
President (other than Lincoln o, Washington, or O’bama)
and write a report about that President. This report
should be at least five or more sentences long and
filled with some interesting or fun facts about that
president. Please do not let your child run a copy from
the internet and just read it. They should try to put
the information in their own words so the other children
will understand, enjoy, and learn from their report.
The children will
present their report orally to the class. They are
allowed to bring in props or clothes to dress the part
of their President if they like. The reports are due
Friday, February 24.
I think this will be a
fun learning experience; hopefully they will enjoy
making their reports!
P.S. Keep the reports until the due
date please!
